BONI NATIONAL RESERVE

The Boni National Reserve is located at the northernmost corner of the Kenyan coast. In 1976, it was conceptualized primarily as a wildlife sanctuary for elephants. It derives its name from the Boni hunter tribe who live in that region. It shares its border with the country of Somali. Its climate is hot and humid. Game found in this park include; Africa's rare elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, topis, gerenuks, Harvey's and Ader's Duikers. For birder watchers, Pelicans, Brown-Hooded Kingfishers, Violet-breasted Sunbirds, European and Carmine Bee-eaters, Honey Buzzards, Palmnut Vultures, Southern Banded Harrier Eagles and Brown-breasted Barbets can be seen.
Boni National Reserve does not have provisions for accommodations.
