BUFFALO SPRINGS NATIONAL RESERVE
Buffalo Springs National reserve is Situated in northern Kenya. It is a unique blend of rounded hills and plains. The landscape is a mixture of arid thorn bush savannah and scrubland interspersed with riverine forests and swamps. The climate is moist and moderately dry. The reserve has over 365 species of birds. It is a home to some rare species like the helmeted and vulturine guinea fowls, sand grouse and doves in addition to a variety of smaller birds.
Game include; the Reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebras, elephants, black rhinos, Ground squirrels, oryxs, Somali ostriches, hippopotamus, crocodiles, gerenuks, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas.
Other activities include; a drive along the river, which gives a chance to catch glimpse of a variety of animals, camping and bird watching.
