DODORI NATIONAL RESERVE
Dodori National Reserve was opened in 1976 with a total covered area of 877 sq km. The reserve gets its name from the river ending in the Indian Ocean at Dodori Creek. It is Located at the northernmost corner of the Kenyan shoreline. Its climate is generally hot and humid.
The wild attractions in the park include; Topis, elephants, gazelles, lesser kudus, zebras and lions. The Dodori River flowing through the park is frequented by gazelles, antelopes and water birds. The river channels are procreation grounds for the green turtles and the dugongs.
The rich bird life varies from Palmut vulture, Southern branded harrier eagle, honey buzzard, brown hooded kingfisher, European and carmine bee-eaters, brown breasted barbet and to the violet breasted sunbird.
