GETTING THERE AND AWAY:

Kenya has several Airlines flying in and out of the country. Airlines include; British Airways from London, Kenya Airways, Emirates Airlines from Dubai, Air India from Bombay, Brussels Airlines, Brussels Airlines from Brussels, Ethiopian Airlines, Klm (Royal Dutch Airlines) from Amsterdam, Corsair from Paris, Sas Scandinavian Airlines,
SN Brussels Airlines and Swiss Airlines from Zurich. Charter flights which can be arranged between domestic tourist attractions. Several Tour and travel companies which offer Airline tickets and also offer other services.

A wide network of buses runs throughout the country connecting almost every town. It is cheaper to travel by bus than train and often quicker but sometimes crowded. Matatus are a common form of mini-bus.

Kenya has an efficient and comfortable rail service connecting Nairobi to Mombasa, Kisumu and Malaba. The overnight Nairobi-Mombasa service offers first and second class options but it is popular and for most of the time you need to book in advance

Incase you are bringing your Own Vehicle; a three month permit on the Boarder at entry is needed. Foreign registered Vehicles with a sitting capacity of six people are not allowed in the park.

International flights to Kenya from within Africa:

Kenya Airways has flights to Nairobi from Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Bamako Blantyre, Bujumbura, Cairo, Cape Town, Dakar. Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Douala, Entebbe, Freetown, Harare, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Kigali, Kilimanjaro, Kinshasa, Lagos, Lilongwe, Lubumbashi, Lusaka, Maputo, Seychelles, Yaoundé and Zanzibar. They also have a flight from Johannesburg to Mombasa. Kenya Airways co-operates with KLM.

Flights to Nairobi include:

Air Kenya Aviation from Kilimanjaro, Ethiopian Airlines from Addis Ababa and Entebbe, Precision air from Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, British Airways from Asmara, Djibouti, Harare, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Lilongwe and Lusaka , Mwanza and Zanzibar. (Co-operation with Kenya Airways), Egypt air from Cairo, Rwandair Express from Kigali (co-operation with Kenya Airways), Air Zimbabwe from Harare, Daallo Airlines from Hargeisa and Mogadishu, South African Airways/Delta Airlines from Johannesburg, Air Madagascar from Antananarivo, Air Mauritius from Mauritius, Air Malawi from Blantyre and Lilongwe (co-operation with Kenya Airways)

Flights to Mombasa:

Precision air from Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar (co-operation with Kenya Airways), Corsair from Paris, L.T.U. International from München, Condor Flugdienst from Frankfurt

GETTING AROUND:

Kenya has domestic carriers offering scheduled flights within the country. Booking in advance is advisable especially during the high season.

OVERLAND:

The Boarders are all open, and regular Buses Mini-buses –taxis connect Kenya to other countries. The main Boarder crossings into Kenya are Busia and Malaba for Uganda, Taveta, Namanga and Lunga for Tanzania, and Moyale for Ethiopia.

There are buses to Nairobi from Dar es Salaam and Arusha (Tanzania) like the Taqwa and Scandinavian Buses, to Mombasa from Dar es Salaam and to Voi from Moshi and several Buses from Kampala (Uganda).;Buses like Scandinavian, Royal Executive, Gateway, Falcon and Akamba travel from Uganda to Kenya.

Kenya has an extensive network of roads which are passable throughout the year.
