LAKE BOGORIA NATIONAL RESERVE

The Lake Bogoria National Reserve is located at the northern region of the Kenyan Rift, 25 km south of Baringo. It covers an area of 107km2. It is framed by the bluish hills covered by riverine forests, dry bush and grassland. The alkaline lake attracts a huge number of flamingoes seasonally which adds to its beauty. Its climate is mostly hot and dry.

It has over 135 species of birds flocking the region thus making the bird life the primary attraction. Some of the birds in the park are; the tawny eagles, pratincoles, swifts, little bee-eaters, cape wigeons, yellow-billed storks, African spoonbills and the augur buzzards.  Other attractions include the Reserve's herd of the rare Greater Kudues and other game like buffalo, zebra, cheetah, baboon, warthog, caracal, spotted hyena and many small mammals.
Other activities include walking through the trails, camping and picnicking too.
