LAIKIPIA PLATEAU RESERVE
It is originally situated northeast of the Laikipia district. It was formerly a group of ranches and the reserve came into existence in 1991 when the ranches turned from farming to wildlife. It is last support for the endangered Black rhinoceros. Its climate is
hot and dry.
Games in the reserve include; the rare black rhinoceros, elephants, wild dogs, cheetahs, warthogs, elands, buffaloes, Grevy's zebras, bushbucks, and cats. It also has a good bird variety that includes cranes.
