NDERE ISLAND NATIONAL RESERVE

Ndere Island is newly gazetted. It covers an area of 4.2 km2 just off the northern shore of Lake Victoria and was opened in November 1986. It is located in Kisumu District of Nyanza Province. It has a Hot and Humid climate.
The park can be accessed by road or boats from Kisumu.There are neither Park Roads nor Park Gates.

The major attraction in the park is the Ndere Island. Other activities include Walking and game viewing. The park has well maintained walking trails.
