SAIWA SWAMP NATIONAL PARK
Saiwa is located below the cherangani hills in the Trans-Nzonia District of the Great Rift Valley. It lies on 3km2 thus making it the smallest park in Kenya. It encloses the swamp fed by the Saiwa River with its fringing belts of rain forest. The main purpose of establishing this park was to protect the semi-aquatic antelope. It has a wet and dry climate.
There is a mixture of forest and swamp vegetation in this park. The swamp has mainly tall bulrushes and sedges. The swamp is bordered by a mixture of grassland, riverine forests and Acacia.
The main activities in this park are; Game viewing, Bird watching, and camping.
